Well, it looks like we made it to February with only two real snowstorms. If we keep our fingers crossed and can go another thirty days or so without another storm, I may be able to put away my show shovel and save my aching back for cleaning out my basement. Of course, with our auction coming up in April we might all be cleaning the basements, er, our magic dens, for some of those unused treasures we all have gathering dust. Might as well pass them along and gain a couple of bucks at the same time.
April is also the month will will be putting on our stage show at the Tripoli Temple in conjunction with the Shriner's. Hope to see you all there.
Hot on the tail of April, we have a great lecture coming up. It's Daryl! Yes! Daryl! It should be an exciting lecture for sure More details to follow as we get the venue hammered out. It will be on a non-traditional meeting date, May 5th, that's a Saturday, so be sure to mark you calendars now.
This months meeting will feature a magic mini-lecture/teach-in by one of our youngest and newest members, Gregory Dobbs. Dobbs has recently lectured for the local S.A.M. assembly 61 to good reviews. He will be teaching some rubber band magic, coin magic and possibly some card work for our Ring. Please bring along 4 half-dollar sized coins to practice with. We will be supplying the required rubber bands. Dobbs will also have some of his lecture notes for sale. I'm looking forward to this. The meeting will be open to non-members with no lecture fee.
It's free, free, free! So, invite any friends you have who may be interested in magic or better yet, joining Ring 41. It will be a good time for sure!
